The Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Services program at
Rhode Island Hospital and the
Women’s Medicine Collaborative is the state’s only integrated, specialty care service that offers minimally invasive gynecology for women of all ages through an affiliation with a full-service hospital.
Through a partnership with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, our board-certified and board-eligible physicians are able to offer advanced surgical and nonsurgical techniques to restore your former quality of life.
Under the direction of
Scott Walker, MD, FACOG, the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Services program is the first of its kind in the region. Our team offers a full range of services to address all gynecologic conditions, gynecologic cancers and pelvic floor disorders, with the least amount of trauma and discomfort possible.
Our program has a dedicated, collaborative team of surgeons who specialize in
minimally invasive approaches for women who require gynecologic surgery, such as vaginal “scar–free” surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic–assisted surgery. The advantages of these approaches are numerous, and include less post-operative pain, a quicker recovery, less blood loss and scarring, a lower risk of wound infections and a shortened hospital stay.
