Our cardiovascular medicine for women service provides cardiac care in a convenient, comfortable setting dedicated to women’s health.
In collaboration with the Cardiovascular Institute at Rhode Island, The Miriam and Newport hospitals, we understand the unique needs of women in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

The cardiovascular medicine service is offered at the Women's Medicine Collaborative by Athena Poppas, MD, FACC, FASE and Karen Aspry, MD, MS, ABCL, FACC.
Our program cares for all women, including pregnant and postpartum women. We are also experienced in treating women with cardiovascular issues who would like preconception counseling.
For your convenience, echocardiograms are also performed at the Women's Medicine Collaborative.
