    • Women's Cancer Survivorship Program
From the day a diagnosis of cancer is made, survivorship begins.

The "I Am”: Women’s Cancer Survivorship Program looks beyond a cancer diagnosis and treatment, and focuses on an integrative approach to address a woman’s individual physical and psychosocial needs. A comprehensive evaluation and plan of care will include a cancer treatment summary, nutrition guidelines, exercise recommendations, stress management strategies, genetic susceptibility assessment, sexuality and reproductive concerns, and coping with the physical and emotional needs of women survivors. Recommendations for cancer surveillance and health maintenance, addressing the effects of treatment and regaining physical and emotional well-being, are the cornerstones of this program.

Our team of caring, experienced providers understands that women with cancer are more than their diagnosis. We appreciate and value who you are. When we speak to our patients, they tell us: “I am a mother.” “I am a wife.” “I am a grandmother.” We recognize you as a person living with cancer and offer individualized life care plans to optimize well-being, assist in disease prevention, and enhance quality of life. .

    • Lifestyle Medicine Center
    • Lifestyle medicine is the evidence-based practice of assisting individuals and families to adopt and sustain behaviors that can improve health and quality of life. Lifestyle medicine focuses on physical activity, nutrition, substance use and stress management.

At the Women’s Medicine Collaborative we believe that caring for a patient is more than writing a prescription or ordering a test. We care for the whole person. We offer a comprehensive lifestyle medicine evaluation. After assessing past medical history, family history and lifestyle habits, our lifestyle medicine team works with the patient to identify those areas that the patient would like to improve.

Working together, we set health enhancing goals, such as increasing physical activity, adding more fruits and vegetables to the patient's diet, or reducing stress. The lifestyle medicine team designs an action plan, which includes identifying resources to support new behavior change goals.

Common resources include exercise classes, stress management workshops, massage therapy, acupuncture, yoga and nutrition counseling. These services may be available at the Lifestyle Medicine Center, within the Lifespan health system, or in the community.
