announced that Mariah Stump, MD, MA, MPH, has joined the Women’s Primary Care team at the Women’s Medicine Collaborative. She began seeing patients
on July 1.
Stump received her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont, and a Master’s degree in public health with a
concentration in women’s, reproductive, and adolescent health from Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. She
completed her residency at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
“Dr. Stump has a wide range of clinical interests and skill sets, including lifestyle medicine, preventative medicine, and obstetric medicine. She fits
perfectly with our Women’s Primary Care team and the individualized care we give our patients,” said Iris Tong, MD, FACP, director of Women’s Primary
Care at the Women’s Medicine Collaborative.
Stump’s research interests include medical education, particularly in the realm of developing evidence-based integrative medicine curricula. She is a
certified instructor in Vinyasa yoga, or flow yoga, a health movement which involves a sequence of breath-synchronized movements.
“Proper nutrition, physical activity, and stress management are among some of the key lifestyle modifications that can play a very significant role in
improving health and quality of life,” Stump said. “In using evidence-based lifestyle medicine as one means for delivering personalized care for our
patients and their families, we are able to improve their health and well-being.”
The Lifestyle Medicine Center at the Women’s Medicine Collaborative offers one-on-one nutrition consults, group nutrition classes, stress reduction
programs, massage therapy and yoga. Stump’s office is located on the third floor of the Women’s Medicine Collaborative at 146 West River Street in
Providence. She welcomes new patients and can be reached at 401-793-7010.
