  • Menopausal Management

  • Menopause is a natural part of aging but can be a turbulent time characterized by changing menstrual cycles, hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, emotional instability and problems sleeping. At Ob-Gyn Associates, we have many years of experience helping our patients cope with the changes of menopause. Every woman is unique and has a different response to the menopause. Some women have very few symptoms and seem to glide through it. Other women have very severe bleeding problems or other symptoms.

There are different therapies for menopausal symptoms and our health care professionals can help you choose what is best for them. General measures to help you transition to the menopause are eating a well-balanced diet, including 1500mg calcium and 800 IU of Vitamin D a day, exercising regularly, and avoiding smoking. Hormonal therapy may also be an option.

We have several physicians who have special interest in menopause (see Our Practitioners) and would be happy to see you.

The Women’s Medicine Collaborative’s Behavioral Medicine program also provides specialized care for mood and anxiety disorders related to the menstrual cycle and the menopausal transition.
